It's the middle of December

It is hard to believe how fast this year has flown by. In January we celebrated Jordyn's 3rd birthday. The other day I was commenting that seems like she has been 3 forever. I look at her sometimes and find it so hard to believe that she is only 3. She started gymnastics in January and is still going strong. She recently started doing a recognizable cartwheel. It is really fun to watch her progression. In April we went down south and spent a couple of nights at a hotel on the beach. It was very relaxing and a nice change from running around all over the place when we go out of town. In May we waited the whole month for our baby girl to make her appearance. Molly was born on May 27th weighing 10 pounds and 1 ounce and 22 1/2" long. No, I didn't fathom in a million years having a baby that big. It all ended up working out very well and she was completely healthy. Her pediatrician told us that it was very common for babies that size to have some kind of problems during the birth or after. We quickly adjusted to being a family of 5. It wasn't the easiest adjustment we have ever made, but we have survived. The beginning of July my brother and I drove up to Hume Lake with the three kids to visit our sister for her birthday. We drove four hours up there and four hours back all in one day with an almost 8 year old, a 3 1/2 year old and a 5 week old. It was an interesting experience, but totally worth it. I don't think I would ever do that again. Later in July we celebrated Caitlyn's 8th birthday with a small birthday party. August brought another trip to Hume Lake, but this time overnight with Craig. It is one of my favorite places in the world to go. I always feel so refreshed even when I only have the chance to spend one night. Five days later we flew out to Atlanta to suprise Craig's dad for his 60th birthday party. His girlfriend (at the time, now current wife), Deborah planned for us to come out and see him. We have never had the opportunity in 10 years to see him in Alabama. We had a lot of fun visiting with him and meeting Deborah and her three kids and their families. After we got back from GA and AL we had 5 days before Caitlyn started 3rd grade. The first day of school was also the first day of Craig's new job in the hospital. He finally has a 8-4pm job that is Monday through Friday. It has a lot of other benefits to him, but those are the things that I really like about it. Whew......the summer just flew by. We got back into the swing of things in September and October and then Halloween hit. There were a couple of Halloween parties and carnivals that they were able to enjoy. Caitlyn and Jordyn love to dress up so Halloween gives them an excuse to be able to dress up all day. The beginning of November I celebrated my 30th birthday. It is hard to believe I am now as old Craig was in our first year of marriage. At 21, thirty just seems so far away. We spent Thanksgiving with my parents in San Luis and then went to the Fitzgerald's up in Cambria. It was something we did as I was growing up and was one of my fondest memories of Thanksgiving. I am glad that my girls will be able to have that experience at least a couple of times. Craig celebrated his 39th birthday the end of November. I guess we are just about to the current time of December. We are looking forward to finishing up this year and heading into next year.

Here are a few pictures to recap some of the year.

The first day of third grade:

We were up in Cambria for the Pinedorado. We decided to visit the ocean for a little while. It was a gorgeous day up there that day.

The first day of parent participation for Jordyn.

I guess I will have to download more pics later because blogspot is acting up for me right now. I will update soon.

Picking Pumpkins

Jordyn and I are in a parent participation class on Wednesday morning. Last Wednesday we met up at Avila Valley Barn to pick some pumpkins. It had rained the night before so it was a huge mess and we both had to take our shoes off before we got into the car. Besides the mud, it was a very fun time. The kids got to eat an apple on the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch. They each picked out a sugar and mini pumpkin. Jordyn admired her pumpkins for the rest of the day.

Bowling Fun

We went bowling today for the first time since I was first pregnant with Jordyn. Craig and I used to bowl in a league many years ago, but haven't regularly bowled since we got married. Here are a few shots from our adventure.

Caitlyn got her first strike all by herself. Go Caitlyn!

Molly didn't get to bowl. We held her and she got to sit in her carseat. I am sure she will be bowling before we know it.

This summer!

I wanted to post some pictures from this summer. Between having Molly in May and then our other scheduled activities the summer flew by so fast. A couple of highlights were Caitlyn's 8th birthday, visiting Rebecca up at Hume Lake, and flying to Georgia for the first time with three kids to visit Craig's dad in Alabama. He didn't know we were coming and it was a great suprise.

We had a small birthday party for Caitlyn on the 18th of July to help celebrate her birthday. She didn't know any of her friends were coming. We kept that a secret so she didn't ask about it all day, every day. :)

The cake she picked out. We had so much left over it was ridiculous. Why can't I ever just buy a cake that gives every person enough, but none is leftover. That would be the perfect cake!

We just received our brand new SLR camera before going up to Hume to see Rebecca. We stayed there for 24 hours and took over 200 pictures. It was so fun to see how it worked. The above picture is the two girls down by the lake as the sun was setting. The weather was perfect up there.

Hume Lake is one of my favorite places in the whole wide world. Not like I have seen the world, but it is in my world. It is such a relaxing place and I always feel rested after returning from there.
Of course, I am going to have to continue the pictures later. I have too many other things I need to do today. Enjoy your weekend!

I decided to start blogging!

I decided to enter the world of blogging. I figured it would be a good way to let people stay up with our family when they don't live near us. We had a very busy summer and an even busier school year. I am going to include pictures as much as I can. We bought a new camera this summer that we love. We have experimented with it some, but have a long way to go.

Last Saturday a girlfriend of mine took some pictures of us out at Avila Beach. Afterwards we went to the park and then on to Avila Valley Barn.

I will post more pictures later. I hope to be diligent about posting so everyone can stay up with us.
